Past President
Illinois Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers
Election/Term of Office: Bylaws, Article V, Section 5. Past President.
After having served as President for one year, the Past President will remain
a member of the Executive Board for one year.
Reports to: President/Executive Board
Primary Function: To act as counsel to the Executive Board and assist
the President.
Major Responsibilities:
- Attends all Executive Board meetings.
- Serves as Chairperson of the Nominating Committee.
- Review, and where necessary due to changes, prepare proposed changes to
the Bylaws of IACRAO for presentation and approval
at the next annual meeting.
- Review and update as necessary the job descriptions of the members of the
Executive Board. The job descriptions should be detailed enough so the incumbent
as well as any person considering accepting the nomination to an office know
what will be required during the term of office. Distribute job descriptions
to new Executive Board members.
- Chairs the scholarship committee.
- Submit articles, according to established guidelines, to editor for publication
in the Chronicle.
- Select and assign mentors for new members/first time attendees at annual
meeting.
- Select Annual Meeting site for the meeting to be held two years following
term as Past-President.
- Bring archival material to February Board meeting for submission to archivist.
General:
It is the primary responsibility of the Past President to act as counsel to
the Executive Board and to assist the President. It is necessary for the Past
President to maintain quality records to which he/she can refer and to possess
the necessary commitment to the Association for that third, and final year.
