Chronicle Editor
Illinois Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers
Election/Term of Office: This is not an elected position but one which
is appointed by the President for two years.
Editor designee will be appointed during the second year of the editor's appointment.
Reports to: President
Primary Function: To plan, gather, edit, and produce the Chronicle
which is the official newsletter of the organization.
Major Responsibilities:
- To edit and produce four editions of the Chronicle. Approximate dates
of the issues are: December, March, June, and September (this issue to announce
those nominated to fill vacancies for officers within IACRAO).
- To prepare publication guidelines including calendar and submit to the Executive
Board.
- In conjunction with the Vice-President
for Professional Activities prepare articles which will provide for update
on relative issues as relates to admissions, records, registration, and financial
aid.
- To seek out, prepare or edit articles on state or district activities or
on individual members who have contributed to the overall mission of IACRAO
through published articles, papers, presentations, or other professional activities
or obtained some personal achievement.
- To prepare the budget for the publication of the Chronicle for submission
to the Treasurer for the annual budget.
- To attend all meetings of the Executive Board.
- Bring archival material to February Board meeting for submission to archivist.
General:
The duties of Editor of the Chronicle require the incumbent to have some
experience and/or training in the art of publishing newspapers. The understanding
of good layout, ability to deal with printers, understand deadline dates and
other matters relating to the publication of news letter/paper.
